David Barker is a fourth-generation Santa Fean whose great-grandfather rode into town on horseback in the 1880s. With deep roots in the community and a lifelong commitment to preserving Santa Fe’s unique heritage, David brings over 40 years of hands-on experience in real estate sales, leasing, development, and property management.
He began his career from the ground up — literally — performing janitorial, maintenance, and repair work in the family business before becoming a licensed Sales Associate in 1977. Since then, he has helped countless clients navigate complex transactions across both residential and commercial sectors.
Today, as Owner and Qualifying Broker of Barker Realty, David and his wife, Lisa Barker, have grown what was once a small, family-run office into one of Santa Fe’s most respected full-service brokerages. David’s approach to real estate is rooted in long-term thinking, stewardship, and service. Whether it's helping a local business secure a flagship location or assisting a property owner with a complex real estate issue, David’s goal is always the same: to provide clarity, solve problems, and deliver value with integrity.
Outside of work, David finds balance in skiing fresh powder and playing competitive squash.
