Los Cielos is a 297± acre luxury recreational retreat in the northern New Mexico mountains. The ranch’s stunning 10,000 square-feet main lodge sits on a ridge overlooking Black Lake and the Moreno Valley, where the mini-series, Lonesome Dove, was filmed. More recently, the lodge was used for filming the Netflix series Outer Range. The lodge has multiple living areas, including three ensuite bedrooms, living rooms, multiple stone fireplaces, and a gourmet kitchen. A complete guest suite is located above the large three-car garage. On the lower end of the ranch, a beautifully restored barn serves as a guesthouse, man-cave, or ranch manager quarters. Outdoor living is a big part of mountain life, and the lodge offers several areas to enjoy nature. Professional landscaping and water features add to the ambiance.
Off in the distance, the peaks of the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range, which include the peaks of the Pecos Wilderness and Mount Wheeler, dominate the view from the ranch. The majority of Los Cielos itself is forested with some meadows. Tucked away in the woods is a secluded spring-fed trout pond. If the private pond fishing isn’t enough for you, the ranch also has access to a private fishing lake a short walk from the lodge. The immediate area around the ranch is well known for its large elk population, which can easily be found grazing in the large grass creek bottom meadows and creeping along the forest edges. The ranch enjoys unlimited elk tags.
Los Cielos is ten miles south of the year-round Angel Fire Resort and Village. Angel Fire features restaurants, a lounge, an 18-hole championship golf course, a ski mountain, tennis courts, pickleball courts, a world-class downhill mountain bike course, and miles of hiking/biking trails. A fixed-base operator (FBO) with an 8,900 foot runway is only fifteen minutes away, a little further up the Moreno Valley. This ranch has it all for the discerning ranch owner.
