Dale Ball Trails
The Dale Ball Trail system provides nearly year-round hiking and mountain biking opportunities directly from downtown. Starting around 7200’ and nestled in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range, the Dale Ball Trails is a spaghetti bowl of singletrack weaving between neighborhoods, hills, forests and washes.
La Tierra Trail Loop
La Tierra Trails is located on the northern end of town near Las Campanas and just off highway 599. This network of trails features just about everything; views, singletrack, jump lines, technical features, and endless opportunities for loops. The high-desert terrain makes for amazing sunset rides.
Galisteo Basin Preserve
Located a few miles south of Eldorado, Galisteo Basin Preserve is the ideal fall and winter riding destination. The scenic barrancas, arroyos, and desert palette provide a beautiful backdrop to excellent ribbons of singletrack. This is a must-ride destination for cross-country riders.
Tesuque Peak Trails
In the summer months, our mountains shed their winter coat of snow and big mountain adventures await. Starting as low as Tesuque and ending at a daunting 12,000+ feet, our mountain trails will leave you breathless in more ways than one. Ranging from backcountry rides to all day epics, the variety and styles of trails should quench your thirst for mountainous riding.
White Ridge Loop
Access this cross-country trail from the White Ridge Trailhead about an hour’s drive from Santa Fe. You’ll be rewarded with spectacular views of the Rio Grande Valley and the Jemez Mountains. Located on BLM land near the San Ysidro Pueblo.
Glorieta Camps
A little further down Interstate 25 lies one of the best riding destinations in the Rocky Mountains: Glorieta Adventure Camps. This privately held operation hosts a free to use and open to the public trail system that will test your mountain biking abilities. Glorieta is known for its lung-busting climbs and technical descents made known by the Big Mountain Enduro Series.
